WHAT IS FLOATING?

Floatation is a healthy and natural way of achieving a deep physical and mental state of relaxation. Think of floating as a way of hitting pause on the hectic world around you. By giving yourself a break from the endless input of sensory experiences, your mind has a chance to recharge, rest and emerge with a renewed perspective and energy.

Floating (otherwise known as R.E.S.T, Restricted Environmental Stimulation Technique) offers immense potential for personal growth and healing.

The tank contains 10 inches of water heated to the same temperature as your skin so you can barely feel it's there (giving the sensation of 'floating'). Over 380kg of medical-grade Epsom salt is dissolved into the water and the tank itself is soundproof and lightproof. Floating stimulates blood flow through all of the bodies tissues. It releases natural endorphins and the brain gives out theta waves associated with relaxation and meditation. During a session, people generally feel weightless and peaceful, without needing to exert any effort to stay afloat.

EPSOM SALT

  • Epsom Salt improves the body’s ability to use insulin, reducing the incidence or severity of diabetes.

  • Epsom Salt flushes toxins and heavy metals from the cells, easing muscle pain and helping the body to eliminate harmful substances.

  • Epsom Salt improves nerve function by regulating electrolytes. Also, calcium is the main conductor for electrical current in the body, and magnesium is necessary to maintain proper calcium levels in the blood.

  • Epsom Salt relieves stress. Excess adrenaline and stress are believed to drain magnesium, a natural stress reliever, from the body. Magnesium is necessary for the body to bind adequate amounts of serotonin, a mood-elevating chemical within the brain that creates a feeling of well being and relaxation.

  • While increasing your magnesium levels, Epsom salt also delivers sulphates, which are extremely difficult to get through food but which readily absorb through the skin.
